FAQ FOR JOB SEEKERS

  • How much do your services cost?  Our services are free for job seekers.  Employers cover the costs associated with utilizing trusted organizations like ours as a way to supplement their internal recruiting teams.   
  • Do I have to sign a contract with you?  Never.  Our agency will not require you to sign a contract limiting you to only work with us.  
  • Can I consider more than one employer?  Absolutely.  Utilizing your professional preferences and goals, we will help narrow open positions to ones that will likely be a good fit.  We recommend limiting the number of organizations you consider to 3-5.  This allows you to make the best use of your schedule, without becoming overwhelmed.
  • Can you help me with my resume and interview skills?  Absolutely.  We're happy to recommend easy-to-use resources for you to craft an eye-catching resume.  We also offer tips on not only how to interview well - but how to pick a great hospital while you're at it.
  • What kind of questions will your recruiters ask me? Our recruiters wants to understand your professional preferences.  They'll ask questions about logistics - such as your desired commute time and schedule as well as your professional preferences.  You can anticipate chatting about surgery, internal medicine, if you like working with exotics, your preferred appointment length and comfort with ER/UC walk-in cases.  We would also love to know your long-term goals, such as becoming boarded or owning your own clinic.
  • Can you help with international relocation?  If you are looking to move abroad, we'll help you consider climate, culture, cost of living, relocation factors and employment.  Once you decide on a given employer, their in-house legal team will be prepared to help you through the visa process.
  • Do you help specialists or ER doctors?  Absolutely!  We help place companion animal general practitioners, as well as boarded specialists and emergency care providers.
  • Can you help me buy a practice?  Sterling Recruiting services works with a variety of organizations offering co-ownership and founding partner roles.  Additionally, we are happy to connect potential sellers with potential buyers when possible.  Contact us for further details.
