A well-established specialty and emergency veterinary hospital is seeking an experienced Overnight Emergency Veterinarian to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys managing complex and critical cases while working alongside experienced specialists and a highly skilled support team. The Emergency Veterinarian will provide compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care to patients during the overnight hours while helping ensure continuity of care for patients and their families.

The overnight schedule is structured as 7 overnight shifts every 3 weeks, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

Role Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency and critical care to companion animal patients during overnight hours
- Evaluate, stabilize, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with urgent and life-threatening conditions
- Manage complex and critical cases using sound clinical judgment and evidence-based medicine
- Utilize advanced diagnostic technologies, including ultrasound, radiography, CT, MRI, endoscopy, and in-house laboratory testing
- Develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans
- Perform emergency procedures and surgery as appropriate to the veterinarian’s experience and clinical skill set
- Monitor hospitalized and critical patients and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up care
- Collaborate with specialists, emergency clinicians, technicians, and other members of the veterinary team
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
- Provide appropriate patient handoffs to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in continuing education and ongoing professional development
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and supportive hospital culture
The ideal candidate will have:
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited institution
- Appropriate veterinary licensure or eligibility for licensure
- Experience in emergency and critical care medicine preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to remain composed in high-acuity situations
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to evidence-based veterinary medicine
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with specialists and multidisciplinary teams
