Opportunities Abroad
Your career doesn't have to stop at the border.
Sterling is proud to work with organizations offering veterinary opportunities outside of the United States. At this time, we have access to a variety of opportunities in Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia—giving veterinarians the chance to combine professional growth with the experience of living somewhere entirely new.
Sterling Recruiting Services may be a U.S.-based company, but we are also avid fans of traveling, exploring new places, and helping doctors discover just how far their careers can take them.
For some doctors, the perfect next opportunity may be across town. For others, it may be across an ocean.
Thinking About Taking Your Veterinary Career Abroad?
If you are a U.S.-based veterinarian who has ever wondered what it might be like to practice medicine in another country, we would love to help you explore the idea.
Working internationally involves a little more planning than packing a suitcase and booking a flight. Licensing requirements, visas, moving timelines, cost of living, and differences in veterinary practice can all play a role in deciding whether an international move is right for you.
Sterling can connect interested doctors with Recruiting Specialists who understand the ins and outs of international veterinary licensing and visa processes and can help explain what to expect along the way. They can also provide insight into different locations, typical salary structures and rates, current employment opportunities, cost-of-living considerations, and realistic relocation timelines.
Whether you have always dreamed of living in Australia, want to experience life in the UK, are curious about opportunities in Canada, or cannot stop looking at pictures of New Zealand, tell us where you would love to go.
We may be able to help you get there.
Already Outside the U.S. and Want to Work in America?
We would love to hear from you, too.
Sterling is thrilled to work with internationally trained doctors who are fully licensed or eligible to practice in the United States and have an appropriate pathway to U.S. work authorization. Many of our clients welcome international doctors and recognize the experience, perspective, and talent they can bring to a medical team.
U.S. immigration requirements can be complicated and are subject to change. Recent developments affecting the H-1B process have significantly limited the opportunities we are currently able to facilitate through that particular visa pathway.
However, that does not necessarily mean there are no options.
If you are seeking U.S. employment and have—or may qualify for—another type of visa or work authorization, we would be happy to learn more about your situation and explore whether one of our clients may be in a position to consider your employment.
Sterling is not an immigration law firm and cannot provide legal advice or guarantee visa sponsorship or approval. Immigration and licensing requirements should always be confirmed with the appropriate legal and regulatory professionals.
