A growing emergency and specialty referral hospital is seeking a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Veterinary Internist to join its collaborative specialty team. Both full-time and part-time opportunities may be considered.
This opportunity is ideal for an Internist who enjoys managing complex medical cases, advanced diagnostics, and hospitalized patients while working closely with specialists, emergency clinicians, and an experienced veterinary support team.
The hospital provides access to an extensive range of diagnostic and critical care technology, including CT, Cone Beam CT, ultrasound, portable ultrasound, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, telemetry, oxygen cages, and advanced mechanical ventilation, with additional access to MRI.

Role Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based Internal Medicine care
- Evaluate patients with complex, chronic, or difficult-to-diagnose medical conditions
- Develop individualized diagnostic and treatment plans
- Manage acute and chronic Internal Medicine cases
- Manage medically complex hospitalized patients
- Utilize ultrasound, CT, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, and other advanced diagnosticswhen clinically appropriate
- Perform advanced Internal Medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures appropriate to training
- Collaborate with Emergency and Critical Care clinicians and other specialists
- Participate in multidisciplinary management of complex patients
- Coordinate advanced imaging and specialty consultation when appropriate
- Provide consultation and clinical guidance to veterinary colleagues
- Work closely with experienced veterinary technicians and other clinical support professionals
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding complex diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis
- Maintain collaborative relationships with referring veterinarians
- Participate in case discussions, teaching, and shared clinical learning
- Maintain thorough and accurate medical records
- Pursue continuing education and specialty development
- Participate in mentorship and professional development within the hospital
- Help strengthen and develop the Internal Medicine service
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative specialty hospital culture
Job Applicant Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
- Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the state of practice
- Diplomate board certification in Veterinary Internal Medicine or completion of an Internal Medicine residency
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic problem-solving abilities
