The Job Opportunity:
An established small animal practice is seeking an experienced veterinarian to serve as Medical Director, combining clinical practice with medical leadership, mentorship, and continued development of the hospital’s medical team.

The hospital is an AAHA-accredited small animal practiceproviding comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care for dogs and cats.The practice incorporates Fear Free and low-stress handling techniquesand follows hands-free radiology safety practices, reflecting a thoughtful approach to both patient comfort and team safety.

The hospital is equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment technology, including:

• Digital radiography
• Digital dental radiography
• Ultrasound
• In-house laboratory capabilities
• Contemporary surgical and dental equipment
• Modern medical and diagnostic resources

Role Responsibilities:

• Providing high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care
• Helping establish and maintain evidence-based standards of medicine
• Supporting individualized diagnostic and treatment planning
• Mentoring veterinarians and supporting their clinical development
• Encouraging collaborative case discussions and knowledge sharing
• Supporting appropriate clinical autonomy among doctors
• Helping develop and maintain medical protocols and quality standards
• Providing clinical guidance to veterinarians and support team members
• Utilizing diagnostic imaging and in-house laboratory resources appropriately
• Promoting Fear Free and low-stress patient handling techniques
• Supporting hands-free radiology safety practices
• Encouraging clear, compassionate communication with clients
• Supporting continuing education and professional development
• Collaborating with hospital leadership on clinical needs and opportunities for improvement
• Helping foster a respectful, supportive, and learning-focused hospital culture

Job Applicant Requirements:

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
• Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the state of practice
• Clinical experience appropriate for a medical leadership position
• A commitment to high-quality, evidence-based veterinary medicine
• An interest in leadership, mentorship, and veterinarian development
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A collaborative approach to working with veterinarians and support professionals
