Associate Veterinarian – Exotic Animal Mentorship | New Graduates Welcome with No Weekends!

JOB-5563

The Job Opportunity:
A well-established small animal and exotic veterinary practice is seeking a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian With a genuine interest in exotic animal medicine to join its experienced and collaborative team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a veterinarian who would like to build or expand skills in the care of rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, reptiles, amphibians, and other exotic companion animals while continuing to practice high-quality canine and feline medicine.

One of the most distinctive aspects of this position is the opportunity to receive hands-on mentorship from a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Exotic Companion Mammal Medicine. Prior exotic animal experience is welcomed but is not required. The practice is interested in finding a veterinarian who is curious, motivated to learn, and excited to develop these specialized clinical skills.

Approximately 20% of the hospital’s caseload consists of exotic species, providing regular exposure to exotic animal medicine rather than occasional cases. Veterinarians can develop their knowledge through direct case management, collaboration, and individualized guidance from an experienced specialist.

Additional exposure may be available in areas such as acupuncture, veterinary medical manipulation, and integrative treatment approaches, providing an opportunity to develop a broad perspective on patient care.

New graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. Mentorship and professional development are important parts of the hospital culture, with an emphasis on helping veterinarians gradually build confidence in medicine, surgery, dentistry, and exotic animal care.

The practice also values sustainable schedules and offers a four-day workweek with rotating Saturdays, no on-call responsibilities, closed Sundays, and major holidays off.
