Role Responsibilities:
- Providing comprehensive medical care for small-animal patients, including preventive care, wellness visits, and treatment of illness and injury
- Evaluating patients, developing diagnostic and treatment plans, and making evidence-based clinical decisions
- Performing examinations, diagnostics, and medical procedures appropriate to the veterinarian’s experience and training
- Participating in the assessment and management of urgent and emergency cases
- Supporting patient care through diagnostic imaging, including radiology and ultrasound
- Contributing to dental care, senior pet health, puppy care, and other preventive medicine services
- Collaborating with colleagues to support continuity of care and positive patient outcomes
- Educating clients about diagnoses, treatment options, preventive health, and ongoing care
- Building trusting relationships with clients through empathetic communication and shared decision-making
- Maintaining accurate medical records and following appropriate clinical and professional standards
- Participating in continuing education, mentorship, and professional development to support ongoing clinical growth
Job Applicant Requirements:
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent qualification
- A current veterinary license in Michigan or eligibility to obtain one
- An interest in providing compassionate, evidence-based veterinary medicine
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to client education
- A collaborative approach to working with veterinary professionals and support staff
- A willingness to continue learning, consider new clinical approaches, and engage in professional development
- A commitment to patient welfare, ethical practice, and high standards of care
