Role Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality emergency medical care for dogs and cats
• Perform thorough examinations and rapidly assess patients based on presenting conditions
• Develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans for emergency cases
• Stabilize and manage urgent and critical patients
• Utilize modern diagnostic technology, including digital radiography and ultrasound, when appropriate
• Practice evidence-based emergency medicine while maintaining high standards of patient care
• Incorporate Fear Free techniques and compassionate handling whenever possible
• Communicate medical findings, treatment options, and recommendations clearly and compassionately with clients
• Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians, assistants, and other members of the medical team
• Consult with colleagues and specialists when appropriate
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
• Participate in continuing education and professional development
• Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative emergency care environment
• Uphold the highest standards of veterinary ethics and patient care

Job Applicant Requirements:

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent graduate of an accredited veterinary program
• Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Texas or eligible to obtain licensure
• Experienced in emergency medicine or eager to develop advanced emergency-care skills
• Comfortable evaluating and treating urgent and complex medical cases
• Committed to evidence-based medicine and exceptional patient care
• Calm, compassionate, and confident in a fast-paced clinical environment
• A strong communicator who can develop trusting relationships with clients and colleagues
• A collaborative team member who enjoys teaching, learning, and sharing knowledge
• Curious and committed to lifelong professional development
