Medical Director – AAHA-Accredited, Fear Free Small Animal & Exotic Practice

JOB-5992

The Job Opportunity:
For an experienced veterinarian, there often comes a point when practicing great medicine is no longer the only goal—you also want the opportunity to help other doctors become great veterinarians and influence the kind of medicine a hospital delivers.

An established, AAHA-accredited and Fear Free-focused veterinary practice is seeking an experienced veterinarian to serve as Medical Director and help guide a collaborative medical team. This role offers the opportunity to lead through medicine: mentoring colleagues, encouraging clinical development, shaping medical standards, and helping create an environment where veterinarians feel supported in doing their best work.

The Medical Director will remain actively involved in patient care, allowing the incoming leader to stay connected to the clinical work they enjoy while becoming a trusted resource for veterinarians and support professionals. Evidence-based medicine, thoughtful case discussion, clinical autonomy, and continued learning are all important parts of the practice culture.

For a veterinarian who enjoys variety, the caseload extends well beyond traditional companion animal medicine. Along with dogs and cats, the hospital cares for avian patients, reptiles, small mammals, exotics, and select small farm animals, creating opportunities to encounter interesting cases, expand clinical knowledge, and support doctors with diverse professional interests.

A strong veterinary technician and assistant team, together with modern diagnostic, surgical, and dental resources, provides the clinical foundation needed to practice high-quality medicine.

For a veterinarian ready to take the next step in leadership without stepping away from the medicine they love, this is an opportunity to mentor, influence, and help shape what comes next—for the hospital and for the doctors who practice there.
