Part-Time Associate Veterinarian – Small Animal Practice

JOB-6380

The Job Opportunity:
An established small animal general practice is seeking a Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to join its experienced and highly collaborative team. This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian who values quality medicine, meaningful client relationships, routine surgery, and the flexibility to build a schedule that fits their professional and personal needs.

The successful candidate will manage a manageable general practice caseload while working alongside experienced veterinarians and strong credentialed support staff. The role offers meaningful medical autonomy, routine surgical opportunities, visiting orthopedic specialty support, and a predictable schedule without on-call, overnight, or urgent-care responsibilities.

The practice is open to a variety of part-time arrangements, including approximately two days per week or another schedule that works well for both the veterinarian and hospital. This flexibility makes the position well suited to experienced clinicians seeking a sustainable part-time role without stepping away from high-quality patient care.

Practice Information:

This established general practice provides comprehensive small animal care in a collaborative environment supported by an experienced DVM team and strong technical staff. Veterinarians see approximately 16 appointments per doctor each day with 20-minute appointment times and benefit from an approximate 2:1 doctor-to-technician support ratio, including credentialed support staff.

The caseload focuses on preventive care, general medicine, and routine soft-tissue surgery. A visiting orthopedic surgeon provides access to additional specialty expertise, allowing the team to collaborate on more advanced orthopedic cases when appropriate.

The practice does not require on-call, overnight, or urgent-care coverage. Its flexible part-time scheduling allows the right veterinarian to determine a sustainable combination of days and hours while remaining an active member of a supportive and experienced veterinary team.

  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to evidence-based medicine, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Strong interest in continued clinical and professional development
  • Availability to establish a consistent part-time schedule in collaboration with the hospital
