An established emergency and specialty referral hospital is seeking a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Veterinary Internist to join its collaborative multidisciplinary team.

The Internal Medicine service works alongside Surgery, Neurology, Ophthalmology, and Emergency Medicine, creating opportunities for collaborative case management and continuity of care for patients with complicated or overlapping medical conditions.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based internal medicine care
• Evaluate patients referred for complex medical conditions
• Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations
• Develop individualized diagnostic and treatment plans
• Manage acute and chronic internal medicine conditions
• Utilize ultrasound, CT, MRI, digital radiography, and advanced laboratory diagnostics when clinically appropriate
• Perform endoscopic and other minimally invasive diagnostic procedures appropriate to specialty training
• Manage hospitalized internal medicine patients
• Collaborate with Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Ophthalmology, and other clinical services
• Participate in multidisciplinary management of medically complex patients
• Coordinate care for patients requiring advanced monitoring or critical care support
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and ongoing care
• Maintain strong communication with referring veterinarians
• Work closely with experienced veterinary technicians and clinical support professionals
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and shared learning
• Maintain thorough and accurate medical records
• Pursue continuing education and professional development
• Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative specialty environment

Job Applicant Requirements:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
• Completion of an appropriate veterinary Internal Medicine residency
• Board certification or residency-trained status in Veterinary Internal Medicine
• Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the state of practice
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities
